Mason City’s Highland Golf Course to launch new website

highland_park_golf_course-2MASON CITY, IOWA – Mason City’s only public golf course will soon be getting a new website as the spring golf season approaches.

Recreation Director Brian Pauly selected a professional web development firm, Breakthrough Web Design, to work with his staff to design, build and host the new website for Highland Park Golf Course.

As a public entity, the course has a strict budget to work within, yet high standards for the look, feel, functionality and performance of the new website. Mr. Pauly relayed these needs to Breakthrough Web Design owner Matt Marquardt, who submitted the winning bid for the project.

“Having completed numerous website design projects similar to this one over a 15+ year period, we’re well-positioned to design a wonderful site for Highland,” Mr. Marquardt said. “The great thing is, once the project is complete, we will be fully-assisting Mr. Pauly and his staff in making sure the site always works perfectly. They’ll have the ability to make their own updates to the site, but we provide 24-hour support as well as on-going consulting. The site will serve them well.”

Highland Park Golf Course was established in 1956 and is comprised of two very distinct nines. The par for eighteen holes is 72 with total yardage of approximately 6,200 yards. The front nine is the older of the two nines, measuring 2,950 yards and has small greens with tight, tree-lined fairways.

The back nine was constructed in the mid-1960’s, measures 3,250 yards and has large greens with long and fairly open fairways. Both nines have automatic watering systems and some of the best putting surfaces in the area.

Some of the goals of the new website are to fully promote the golf course, draw new golfers in, and advertise the great qualities of the golf course.  Another goal is to communicate with the public about events and tournaments taking place and bolster participation.

The new site will be located at HighlandParkGolfCourse.com and should launch in mid-March or sooner.
