Mason City’s CENT credit union plans grand opening events

MASON CITY –  CENT Credit Union will hold grand opening events beginning May 1 to introduce the community to its two new properties, The CENTer, and CENT WestSide.  Events will include contests, games, giveaways, tours, ribbon cutting ceremonies with the chamber of commerce, and the unveiling of new artwork commissioned specifically for CENT Credit Union.

The CENTer (Ribbon Cutting: 10:45 a.m. Friday, May 5): The new headquarters of CENT Credit Union, The CENTer (25 West State Street) is a reimagining of the former Bank of America building in the heart of Mason City’s downtown.  This 20,000 square foot facility has been vacant since August, 2016.  The CENTer will be the linchpin of CENT’s planned growth in membership, employment, and services to its members.

The facility will be far more than just a financial services office.  The games and fun offered in the new Kids’ Zone promise to surprise anyone who expects a typical “banking” experience, and the Members’ Lounge will offer coffee and treats and serve as a draw for guests of all ages.

With The CENTer, CENT Credit Union will also provide an answer to a significant issue in North Iowa: the need for quality office space.  Other local businesses and nonprofits are already agreeing to make use of the ample room within The CENTer.  Details on these users will be released soon.

CENT WestSide (Ribbon Cutting: 10 a.m. Monday, May 1): CENT is the new owner of a former bank building (3124 4th St. SW) located next to Applebee’s and Mills Fleet Farm on Mason City’s west end.  The facility has been vacant for approximately three years.  CENT WestSide will allow CENT Credit Union to serve its growing business and customer base in the fastest-growing area of Mason City.

“Thank you to everyone who believes in us and banks with us,” said CENT Credit Union President and CEO Matthew Chizek.  “You are the ones allowing this positive change to happen.  We are proud to finally unveil these new locations and show how we will continue to invest in Mason City and North Iowa.”

To help spread the word about this positive change, CENT is planning an innovative outreach effort – particularly through social media.  A CENT Credit Union Snapchat Geofilter will be available, Facebook Live videos will be posted, Twitter updates will be made continuously, and Instagram Stories will help share the events happening during the grand opening week.  Videos highlighting the week’s activities will also be posted to CENT’s YouTube channel.

As part of the relocation, CENT’s two current locations will close permanently at noon on Friday, April 28.
