Alliant Energy Foundation donates to Iowa non-profits

CEDAR RAPIDS – Twelve regional Iowa nonprofit organizations are receiving community grants totaling $16,550 from the Alliant Energy Foundation in the second of its two 2016 giving cycles.

“Our communities are better places thanks to the work these organizations do,” said Julie Bauer, executive director of the Alliant Energy Foundation. “Our investments in them create more success, especially in the areas of Helping Families, Education and the Environment.”

Among those earning grants from the Alliant Energy Foundation are:

· BCLUW Community School District, Conrad, $2,500 for CASE equipment
· Habitat for Humanity of Marion County Inc., Knoxville, $2,500 for single-family new construction
· North Iowa Vocational Center Inc., Mason City, $2,500 for JobLink expansion
· Camp Foster YMCA Inc., Spirit Lake, $2,000 for its Kinship Mentoring Program
· Greene County Extension and Outreach, Jefferson, $1,500 for Full STEAM Ahead
· Dr. Grace O. Doane Alden Public Library Foundation, Alden, $1,500 for Tween/Teen Library Engagement Project

Also receiving grants are: Adair Public Library; Friends of the Robert W. Barlow Memorial Library, Iowa Falls; Child Abuse Prevention Services, Marshalltown; Families First of Pella; Dallas County Hospital Foundation, Perry; and City of Scranton.
